On a sweltering hot day, I had seeing KOBE from a cruise ship. I have a new parasol, beautiful clothes and shoes, However, when going out, I am in cotton pants and a T-shirt....needlessness.　I mean, It's too hot!

By the way, I could see the submarines which were in a dock of a shipbuilding company, and it was a slightly happy feeling.

I dressed up in a brown dress with gold necklace and went to a seafood restaurant with my husband in Shanghai.

I often saw that my husband couldn't get across with his Chinese there. He was not able to order some dishes from a girl aged about 16 or 17 years old. We had waited water to wash our fingers, but it did not come out.

When my husband talked to her, she got a glimpse of me as if she demanded help. She talked to me at last. But I do not understand Chinese, and she understands neither English nor Japanese.

Though water for fingers was not served, all dishes which he ordered were served. We talked pleasantly, and drank Chinese aged liquor together. I was stuffed.

My husband and I took a walk through Shanghai without a guide. 

We left the hotel before noon and had a lunch in the town. After that, we went to see Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai.

There were many multilateral consulates at a corner in the city and several Chinese military men, not police officers, protected Japanese Consulate, and nobody were there except us. I felt fear.

By the way, my husband wanted to take a photo of me with the consulate in the background, but it was refused by them. How do you think about my husband bargained for taking a photo with a officer, armed with a gun?

The Chinese do not drink liquor during dinner. But my husband and I drink in dinner time. Therefore we are exposed as Japanese.

Apropos, drinking no liquor in the daytime, I ordered green tea on that day. Though I had been thinking that the Chinese always had oolong tea till I came to China, there were nice green tea.

A waiter poured boiling water into the glass which tea leaf was in. When it sank, I was able to drink it. When tea water level downed, the waiter came to add hot water. The tea water never come down.

Aa s tea leaf stuck to my lips, I acted like a Chinese and blew it out under the table. Then my hubby laughed out and said to me, "There is really different between Chinese and yours, and your manner is worse than the Chinese."  How come I cannot be like a Chinese?

If I were in home country, I could order anything by myself. In any case, I was always a little excited when my hubby ordered dishes, and couldn't stop thinking about the dishes which other people ate.

One night, I went to a restaurant near the hotel where I was staying. I walked past it many times, but had hesitated to come into the restaurant. There were always only Chinese and the tables did not have tablecloths.

There were neither the menu written in English nor Japanese. My husband and I took long time and decided what we ate. Contrary to my expectations, I could eat very good Chinese foods.
